A case study of community development in online settings by Chris Brook and Ron Oliver

abstract:
The concept of creating a sense of community among online learners is something many teachers aspire to achieve. This article presents a well-constructed case study where a Learning Community Development Model was used to consider the extent to which the course participants experienced a sense of community. The initial results have interesting implications, for those pursuing the growth and development of online learning communities, for how we develop online trainers or teachers, design courses, and support learners.
