i most definitely would have bought one had i been able to get all my uni books on it. i have these massive books (with wonderful names like 'images of organisations') i had to lug around that now sit on my shelf making me wonder how long til i should toss them.

and even way back when - i warmed up to the rocketebook. agreed, it has some issues but it was better than the other ebook. one of the reasons i liked it was b/c i move so much. books tend to be a large portion of my 'stuff' so if i could even have 1/2 in a cool digital form, it would lighten the load.

You woulda bought one of those things? I read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" on the Rocket. Too heavy to hold, screen too dim, uck.

I've seen prototypes of the Sony device and the page is very bright (it's not a screen, but more like paper, ie it reflects light rather than emitting it) and lightweight, but still.......not the form factor of a book.

My favorite was the bus driver who took people from Jersey into NYC every day. When we got to Port Authority, he would announce our arrival there, followed by the local time and weather conditions, as if we hadn't just traveled all of 10 miles to get to midtown.

You can hire trams for functions - so I suspect this was used in a wedding on Sunday, rather than a happy driver having a laugh. That said, there are some funny drivers out there.
