as much as i complain about the trams, sometimes they crack me up. on the newer trams, the signs are LED & can be programmed (i’m guessing) by the driver. while usually they say things like 16 st kilda or 55 domain, occasionally you see something different.
a lot of times you’ll see sorry closed but i’ve also seen blank. yes, blank. not blank as in nothing there but blank as in b-l-a-n-k spelled out.
tonite i got off the tram on the way home & saw another tram coming up the road behind mine. i whipped out my camera really fast & got this pix. which is why it isn’t the best ever pix. i’d like to say there was NO ONE on the tram except the driver. so he must have been having a bit of fun. excellent!

You can hire trams for functions – so I suspect this was used in a wedding on Sunday, rather than a happy driver having a laugh. That said, there are some funny drivers out there.
My favorite was the bus driver who took people from Jersey into NYC every day. When we got to Port Authority, he would announce our arrival there, followed by the local time and weather conditions, as if we hadn’t just traveled all of 10 miles to get to midtown.
