last august i read GTD (getting things done) and one of my goals was to organise my inbox. i realised the whole categorisation of emails into different folders wasn’t going to work for me b/c i need to have things in front of me – but i did try to do the ‘finish it in 2 min & get it out of the inbox’ ideas. it worked for a bit. i cleaned the inbox out from some insane number to something like 50. i’ve just realised i’m back up to 306. argh.
a very cool thing i read about today is ‘literary speed dating‘.
Text Appeal: Literary Dating!
Looking for love this summer? Bring a favourite book to the Library, and try a new angle on dating. A book you love or loathe will get the story started. Austen meets Kerouac, Rushdie falls for Zadie and JK Rowling can probably take her pick… Who will you find?
Time: Wed 17 and Wed 31 January, 7-9.30pm
Venue: Experimedia
Bookings: 03 8664 7555 or learning@slv.vic.gov.au
Cost: $20 per session (three for the price of two, drinks and entertainment included)
i think it’s a fab idea. i’d definitely go with a brautigan book and if anyone even knew who that was, they’d be assured of a coffee after!
