textpattern & blosxom … and the winner is…

ok, blog software #2. text pattern. my test site is here.

again, the install was pretty painless. very quick & easy. probably easier than wordpress actually.

from reading the other reviews, it sounded like i could have 1 install & multiple blogs but no where on the admin side do i see this option. when i went to search the support forum, i found there’s NO search functionality.

there also doesnt seem to be as much support as wordpress (both documentation & user contributed).

as u can see from the test site, there’s an error which isnt immediately understandable (at this point, i don’t have the time to debug).

but i do like that u can specify different categories for articles (ie posts) , links & images. i also like that u can have a future time as the publish date. you can disable comments after x amt of time (and u can moderate them). but i don’t like that i’m getting an error msg when i try to add a comment).

the templates are interesting. while the base one isnt very fancy, there does seem to be a lot of options w their textile syntax.

i’ve also had a quick look at blosxom (thanks peter!). it looks like it would take a decent amt of time going thru the plugins to set up what i’d want & i don’t really have the time so i think i’m going to go w wordpress.
