i fear americans

i saw a tshirt in a shop window today that said “i fear americans”. my first reaction was vague surprise (of it’s existance) and then i felt assulted. could you imagine meeting someone wearing that shirt? that would be nice & uncomfortable. and what if i wore a ‘i fear australians” shirt? they’d love that.

that feeling lasted for about 9 seconds and then i thought about going to see how much it cost b/c how ironic & funny would it be if i were to wear it. i was running late to work so i didnt.

i’m watching rage, this great video show. there’s a band called murder dolls doing a cover of billy’s white wedding. god it’s awful. billy, who had to read off a yellow legal pad to remember some of his lyrics last time i saw him perform, would still do a better version than this.

it is very odd

to be sitting at my desk in melbourne with the heater on next to me, watching people in short sleeves at the us open in nyc. it’s live on my tv… here … at 1am …. and in an hours time i can watch the today show. but i’m gonna go to bed soon. after i check the roof & see if the clouds have cleared and hopefully see mars. geez, what a run on sentance.

what i’m procrastinating on now…

tomorrow i have a presentation in team dynamics. i need to review the stuff we’re talking about but am pretty confident here.

have to finish off the learning diary for the same class. i have to hand this in.

next week i have a report on triple bottom line due. i’ve been trying to do some research and have lots of ‘here’s why it’s good’ data but no ‘here’s why it sucks” data. of course i have to argue both sides in my paper.

i have a finance test on tuesday which i’m not happy about. not as freaked & scared about as last semester’s finance (aka accounting) tests but i’m not exactly thrilled about it.

and then there’s some other ebiz paper due soon. not even sure what that’s about since i slept thru class last week. speaking of ebiz, i got a D on my paper (as in distinction… the equiv of a B). it seems i didnt reference enough. i didnt have enough references and i missed a reference where i quoted. what makes me laugh is a bunch of the stuff is my own ideas, not stuff i’ve read and would need to reference. so in his notes he asked where it was from or if it was mine. i almost felt like i got points taken off for having my own ideas (or at least not referencing myself) and not refering back to a lot of documents. sweet.

this is a test

because i just realized the time zone is off by an hour. last post said it was 4a when it’s actually only 3a. hoping to fix that w this …

english beer

i prefer special or bitter from youngs (you can buy it in the grocery store as well as the pub) but fuller’s london pride will be appreciated.

over here i’ve been drinking james squire’s ale. it’s pretty good. boags is also decent beer. but neither come anywhere close to youngs.

cheese whiz

ok, i like it. its good for nachos and grilled cheese and putting on broccoli. and i havent found anything like it here.

mexican / cuban

some good food! like the black beans & rice from sophies downtown (with just one container of that green spicy stuff).

or even some movie theater fake cheese nachos.

nachos

one of the things i’ve decided i miss about nyc is the abundance of cuban & mexican food. the other day i noticed a mexican place (a chain) and i think that’s the first one i’ve seen. i have yet to find cuban.

along the same lines, i’m pissed that you can’t get nachos at the movies. this is my fav movie food. so when i noticed ‘MexiGos” snacks at the grocery store the other day i was all about that.

i’m just finishing them (another way to procrastinate finishing my learning diary due 2morrow). the nachos are pretty decent and the fake cheese isnt fake so that’s pretty good but the salsa sucked. it was tomato sauce, not salsa. and the serving was really small.

this week

last saturday nite as i was leaving work i ran into my x’s best friend. today on the way to pilates i realized the annoying guy with the microphone (lots of shops have people standing outside constantly talking about their sales) was my next door neighbor (not only do i recognize my next door neighbor but i know his name). wed morning as i was rushing home i saw my friend spike get off the tram. so that’s 3 in less than a week.
