i’m in semester break now.

i’m in semester break now. ill have to update you re the last bits another time. i’m working on moving this to moveable type instead of blogger b/c of the publishing problems i’m having. anyway, i got a waitress job at this nice place down by the arts centre. so lots of ballet & opera crowd. it’s been ok so far xcept for them calling 2x this week and cancelling on me and my only working 2 hours last nite. i saw an ad for a place called abigal’s. it’s a steakhouse but all the waitresses wear practically nothing. i dont think they’re naked but they wear little bits of something. much less than hooters. one of my friends asked if i’d get a job there and i said how gross would that be if you were serving a steak, wearing nothing, and the steak blood splattered all over my veggie skin. so of course, what happens… last nite i’m serving steaks to these guys and i didnt realize just how much blood was on the thing so i accidentally tilted the plate while putting another plate on the table. blood spilled off the side of the place & onto my pants. i was holding it near my hip so basically the entire waistband of the pants & dripping down my leg was blood. not like i left a trail or anything.. not that much. but it was gross. now i have to put those pants back on & go back to work 2nite. and i still dont know how much i get paid. argh.

230am sat nite going into

230am sat nite going into sunday morning and i’m procrastinating on this marketing paper. i worked tonite. my 2nd nite waitressing and it wasn’t that bad but i’d still like to find a job where i’m using my brain in a way where i could use a lot of the stuff i’m learning.

i havent been posting much since blogger doesnt like to publish anything anymore

my finance test was last week. i was pretty stressed about it and basically i ended up thinking if i could remember how to figure out the break even & contribution margin then i’d be ok. well i managed those bits but the test was different and a lot harder than the sample tests we had been supplied. there were terms in the test like “contribution margin format” (in refering to how to write your info) and something “segment” and a few others. seriously terminology i am pretty sure i never heard uttered during finance (and i actually do pay attention). i’m not sure i passed which really scares me.

handed in my org behavior paper on the same day. i wasn’t stressed over that since i had taken time to write it and had finished it a day or so before it was due. ok, enough procrastinating… time to go back to the marketing final paper.

once i can get my blog to publish again, i’ll link to geourl. you can see what blogs are near you. this morning i also downloaded trepia which is a IM client that lets you find people near you. though when i try to register it tells me that i am not connected to the net.

i had my opp eval paper & presentation last week & like i thought… it went pretty decently. one of the guys in my team was really sick and couldnt make it so that was a little nerve inducing. the fact there were 4 outside folks to grade us also put the pressure on (3 of them liked us & 1 thought we kind of sucked. nice. he was also one of the guys i wanted to hit up for a gig since he has a site. guess not).

i have my org dyn paper about half written. we’re doing the marketing paper this weekend. that leaves finance. i’m studying today. maybe write some of the paper today. i’m pretty nervous about this one.

at some other time, i need to write about my convo with the marketing folks at school. and how i’m taking an ebusiness course next semester even though i think i’ll be bored.
